At the Little Cove Retreat, we are all about creating the most wonderful and transformative experience for you. We welcome yoga teachers and their students for a yoga retreat. As a registered yoga school of the Yoga Alliance International in India, we host yoga students from all around the world who want to become yoga teachers. The Little Cove Retreat is located by the Gangapur Dam and is surrounded by breath-taking, evergreen farming fields rich with grapes and vegetables. The nearest town is Nashik also known as the grape capital of India.
The Little Cove Retreat offers accommodation in beautiful, wooden, handcrafted, authentic cottages. They are single or double occupancy which is perfect if you would like to experience the height of tranquillity and serenity. The daily yoga classes and teacher training are provided by a team of residential yoga teachers led by the world-renowned yogi and owner of the retreat, Mahendra Pardeshi. From their vast experience, you will find out how to improve your practice and learn traditional Hatha and Ashtanga yoga. On the completion of your yoga teacher training, you will graduate from the Little Cove Yoga School and become a Yoga Alliance International registered yoga teacher.
During your stay, you will enjoy amazing, organic vegetarian Indian meals, catered especially to your dietary requirements (including vegan and gluten-free meals). All products that we use is locally sourced and freshly cooked on-site by a team of indigenous chefs. If you are into cooking, we will offer you complimentary cooking classes so that on your return to your home you will enjoy the flavors of India and keep your memories of the Little Cove Yoga Retreat in your taste buds for a little bit longer.
The teaching of the Little Cove Yoga School is based on traditional techniques and ways of practice. During the teacher training course, we pay particular attention to teaching our students what yogis have practiced for millennia to become happier, healthier, and more peaceful. We unveil the truths hidden within the Yoga Sutra, explore meditation techniques and teach about ways to practice the chakra balancing meditation to bring physical and mental stillness. An essential element of the teacher training course is the mantra chanting and breathing practice that allows the spiritual energy to flow freely through your body and mind.
During the 25 days of the teacher training, you will become fluent in the yoga practice of pranayama and find out about the benefits of breathing techniques such as Kumbhaka and Kapalbhati. We will draw your attention, particularly to the shatkarmas (Neti, Dhauti, Nauli, Basti, Kapalbhati, and Trataka) whose purpose is to remove impurities from your body and mind, cure a range of diseases and prepare your body for pranayama in order to force the vital energy prana into the central Sushumna channel, allowing kundalini to rise, and so to attain moksha, liberation.
Cultivate a healthy body, quiet mind, open heart and vibrant spirit.
